Cap & Cowboy ‘Round the World
Welcome to The Adventure Dudes! If you’re like us, you flip through the glossy pages of travel magazines and you wonder what THAT would taste like, how the air would smell under that bit of sky, what the sound of the native language would most closely resemble in your own life’s experience. And you either continue to wonder…or you chase the answers.
That’s exactly what we’re doing here. We’re Andrew and James: a couple friends who met on a cruise ship in 2015 and never looked back. Sometimes you just meet a person and realize you were meant to travel the globe together. Sometimes the bromance is just undeniable.
Ever since we were nippers, the call of the “other” was too strong to resist. For some, it’s enjoyable to hear tales of journeys and quests, and sigh and smile wistfully at the adventurous spirit that lives in the hearts of heroes. For others—like us—it’s not enough to hear the stories, to wonder what juicy detail the teller omitted. We have to discover every taste, touch, and smell for ourselves.
Here at The Adventure Dudes, we’re all about budget travel, heart-pounding adventure, and putting a capital F in fun. But while we’re at it, we bet we can also do our part to bring a fractured world a little bit closer together. Keep scrollin’ to learn a little bit more about Andrew and James.
ANDREW – “Captain Adventurepants”
Rock climber. World traveler. Conservationist. Public lands advocate. I use a lot of different terms to describe myself, but honestly, it all boils down to spending my life fighting against fear. In climbing, it’s fighting my own fear. In travel, it’s trying to dispel the fears of others. The world today is so damn terrified of everyone and everything that doesn’t look, smell or sound familiar. I’ve got a funny feeling that just a little exposure to different cultures and different people would change all that. Every fiber of my being believes that people are people are people, and that’s the story I created The Adventure Dudes to tell.
Thanks for being here. I’m excited to share these stories with you, and hopefully, give some of y’all the nudge you need to get out there yourself.
JAMES – “Cowboy”
I’m a wandering artist with deep Southern roots and fiery passions for tight harmonies, CRIMSON TIDE football, and travel. Armed with aggressive optimism and a kick-ass tenor, I enjoy life to the fullest–wherever it may take me. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had to love on folks around the world, and experience the differences in life they enjoy. It turns out we’re all reeeeeal close to the same once you get past the first few layers. I approach just about every situation with humor because I think a lot of folks—including yself—could use it. I’m a strong proponent of countering “I could NEVER do THAT” with an “if I can, anybody could.“
Flexibility, perspective, and a whole lotta faith in humanity have taken me far and wide. I’m hoping that if you see enough awesome and ridiculous on here from me ’n Andrew, you’ll start to believe those ideas will serve you, too.
